WHEN: Sunday, October 18th, 9:00AM – 6:30PM
WHERE: Reggie Lewis Center, 1350 Tremont Street, Roxbury, MA
REGISTER TODAY! $10-$30 Early-bird sliding scale (includes great food!) (scholarships available)
http://relocalizemassachusetts.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=1
We'd like to keep this sliding scale through the day of the conference to maximize accessibility, so please contribute towards the higher end of the scale!
We'll have Bill McKibben on hand just a week before the big International Day of Climate Action (see 350.org). We'll have Frances Moore Lappé and Mel King on hand, pointing the way to resilient, relocalized communities based on justice and sustainability. And we'll have dozens of people and organizations on hand who are blazing the trail in their communities for thriving local economies that protect the planet while meeting people's needs.
The major goals of the conference are to educate, inform, and empower Massachusetts residents to take actions in their communities to help build the local infrastructure and institutions needed to provide economic security in a changing world. The conference will help clarify, catalyze, and coordinate the emerging efforts across the Commonwealth that are blazing the trail for community-organized energy, finance, banking, budgeting, healthcare, food, education, retail, service, manufacturing, and more.
Organizations and individuals are encouraged to participate. There will be workshops, tabling, panel discussions, keynote speakers, structured & purposeful networking, space for collective analysis and movement building, local organic food, childcare, film screenings and entertainment. Please send this on to people and organizations you think we should include and ask them to get in touch with us!
